The Slovakian brand Moyo is mostly known as a carrier and babywearing clothes manufacturer (the review of their carriers is here and of the babywearing clothes here). Similarly to other carrier manufacturers they decided to make the carriers out of their own wraps, in four different designs so far. We had the opportunity to test two of them, Aloha and Village, just right after they were released.

Quite understandably, Moyo, as a “carrier” brand does not tend to experiment with blends – all their wraps are universal all-cotton of medium weight. Their colours are very vivid, the patterns are distinctive patterns and generally very attractive, according to the general opinion of our fellow wearers from our local babywearing group.

Both the wraps we tested were, aside from the colour and pattern, the same, both on the paper and “in hand” – therefore I will write the review about both of them together. They are both medium-thick all-cotton pieces that are easy to work with (however, they are both very very long; they are size 7 in fact, rather than size 6), pleasant to touch, not too smooth and slippery – their grip is in perfect balance and they hold in the carry in one knot without problems. They cooperated while tying so well that I would not hesitate to recommend them even to absolute beginners who hold a woven wrap in their hands for the first time (although they would be a bit too thick for a tiny newborn in my opinion). It is very easy to tighten them, feel slightly elastic in the carry and we had quite a good time wearing both of them with almost-13kg Emilka even for longer periods of time. Concerning their properties, they reminded me of Lenka Mandala, the wrap we totally fell in love with over a year ago.

Just as good “conversion” wraps they are not prone to pulls and the pattern and colours are really cheerful and distinctive; I mainly love the folk motive of Village – in my opinion (sorry, dear Moyo) the pattern looks much better on a wrap than on a carrier. The pineapples in vivid yellow and pink are a bit too wild for my taste, but I am quite sure that they will find their fans (or they already found them because they are hopelessly sold out in the Moyo e-shop).

The only thing I have to reproach about these wraps is that the wraps have a clear “wrong” side. Well, Aloha has more of a “white” side, but the wrong side of Village is not pretty and showable at all. What a pity.

Our thanks for the opportunity to test the wraps go to the manufacturer and the Facebook group Nosící Česko-Slovensko (i.e. Babywearing Czecho-Slovakia).
